Few weeks ago we went to Pizza Port as a halfway point on to our trip to San Diego, and we decided to hold out on our lunch for Gibroni’s afterwards. So glad we did that! (not to say Pizza Port’s Pizza didn’t look good or anything) We live in Burbank and have always been obsessed with Prime pizza, but now after Gibroni’s, it will never be the same. Also even after recently returning from Chicago, I think Detroit style pizza might be my new jam or maybe it’s just Gibroni’s. I heard good things here, but me and my girlfriend were pleasantly surprised. The crispy crust, the sauce on top of the pizza, and just overall quality was mind blowing. Wish I lived closer to San Clemente.

Super cool spot, great food, great service. Very small town vibe. The owner was walking around in flops and board shorts. Absolutely love it. The pizza was epic, exactly what I was hoping for! Wings also very tender and great.

This place is an absolute gem!

First, the service is amazingly friendly. I should have asked for their names but every employee was great to interact with. 10/10, thank you to all of you!

Second, the atmosphere is very old-school pizzeria and I love it. One side is a bar, the other side a few proper pizzeria tables and some great arcade games (they have NBA Jam!). They have a bit of patio seating as well. It was pleasant to be inside the restaurant. Again, the vibe was very much old-school pizzeria and it couldn't be better.

Third, the PIZZA. I do not typically seek out Detroit style pizza, but this place was so well-regarded I couldn't miss it as I tour through all the best pizza in Orange County. I'm sure glad I didn't. I had both the cheese pizza (not the one with fresh mozzarella, just the normal cheese blend) and the From the D pizza, which is essentially double pepperoni. Not only was this very easily the best Detroit pizza I've ever had, but a top 10 pizza I've had and it's not 10. Every element of Detroit style pizza was executed to perfection. Perfectly cooked dough, incredible cheese crust at the top, high quality sauce on top (I do love the upside down element)....I'm still thinking about it days later. I normally am a pepperoni guy, but the cheese pizza alone was better. It was perfect for this style, and exactly what you want to try first to establish that baseline.

Please, go to Gibronis. They deserve your patronage and you deserve their pizza. Maybe I'll see you there.

Being a lover of a wood fire oven pizza, I walked into what appeared to be the average "pizza after the game" pizzeria. We were blown away by our pizza! "I'm a convert" I told my wife. We had the, Caprice pizza and every succulent bite was like nothing I have ever had. The salad was equally amazing even though it wasn't the one we ordered. Can't wait to come back.

Near perfect Detroit style pizza. As good, if not better than the real stuff in MI. I got the plain pizza + pepperonis and ordered it “well done”, which is a modification you can and should make.

I worried there wouldn’t be enough pepperonis on the pizza since they have one of those on the menu, but I thought they gave me an adequate amount. I drove the pizza down to the beach and luckily it didn’t lose any of its crunch in the 5-10 min commute.

Gibroni’s pizza at the SC beach is pretty much heaven. I highly recommend this place.

Ever since Selma's on Del Mar closed, I had been lamenting the fact that an excellent, deep dish pizzeria could not be found locally whenever I met up with friends in San Clemente. Enter Gibroni's to the rescue. While the cost on a per pizza slice and quantity level is certainly higher than what I had expected upon first entering, the level of quality in the ingredients and the taste of the finished product far exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly, and even the owner of the establishment could be seen making the rounds and checking on the guests and their experience. The place was a bar, but it also had an incredibly comfortable atmosphere, complete with couches to just lounge around, enjoy a pizza, drink some beer, and chat with friends through the meal. The pizza was just deep enough to get that full bodied taste, but not so deep that the ingredients and toppings lose out and all you taste is the dough and crust. I can't wait to go back again for another 'From the D' Pepperoni Pizza and side of Buffalo Wings. It may sound silly, but even the water that was provided seemed to be properly filtered and wasn't the typical Tap water trash that most establishments provide.

First time and was very pleased. Good tasting pizza made with good quality ingredients. Got the double D pizza plus jalapeno and their Oct special (9 mile high). Very yummy special!! Very pup friendly (inside and on patio). We went on a Saturday at noon and it was a good time to be there. I think the crowd is at night when they have live music. Worth the 1hr drive. Hehe. Walk up ordering process and they deliver the food. All drinks ordered at the bar. Boxes, plates and utensils are self serve. Easy peasy. Had no fuss with parking.
